On page 27... Nat explains how the "strange scene" reminded her of Meredith, Suzanne, and Coralee, her friends from back home. In this journal, you will take on the point of view of Natalie and write a friendly letter to one of her friends that she misses telling them of her experiences so far. ***Be sure to add feelings and the FIVE parts of a friendly letter.***
Dear Meredith, 11/9/2015
As you may know, my glaucoma is getting worse. My parents thought it would be best if i switched schools. This is very hard for me because I will miss you, Suzanne, and Coralee so much. Thank you guys so much for all the help these past few weeks.
I just came from a lady who was sizing me up to see which cane is right for me. A cane! Isn't that crazy?! I don't think I need a cane. I am perfectly capable of seeing. But anyways, we found one and then she said that I needed to take these Orientation and Mobility classes that are supposed to teach me how to use the cane. I DON'T NEED THE CANE AND I DON'T WANT THE CANE!
The first day of school here reminded me of what our first days used to look like. Lockers would be slamming here and there, and the hallways would be filled with kids getting from class to class. I miss you guys so much. This is really hard. I hope to see you again someday, even though I might not.
With Love,
Natalie
