This journal will focus on elements of foreshadowing in chapters 18 and 19 in An Abundance of Katherines.
In chapter 18 and 19, we see Lindsey going to her secret hide out. Colin realizes she is there and goes to find her. In the secret hideout, Lindsey and Colin are talking about everything they have gone through together ever since Colin arrived in Gutshot. Colin also finished his theorem about relationships. At the end of chapter 19, Colin and Lindsey kiss, and they start dating.
When Colin uses his theorem to see how long his relationship with Lindsey would last, he found out that it would only last four days, and that Lindsey would dump him. However, Colin was not disappointed. He had expected Lindsey to break up with him anyway. In a way, Colin's theorem was used as an element of foreshadowing throughout the entire novel.
